In 1979, a US Air Force retiree living in Arizona noticed the number of vehicles driving around with towels and rags on the dash area to reduce the harsh heat and glare of the desert sun. He experimented with many different materials, looking for both the ideal texture (to reduce glare) and insulation (to reduce heat build-up) and, after adding a latex backing for shape retention, he introduced the perfect carpet for his new product – DashMat (Otherwise known as our "Original DashMat".

Which DashMat Is the Best Dash Cover?
The core difference between most of our DashMat Dash Covers is purely stylisitc. Each material will protect your dash the same. The only Dashmat that is a little different is our Ultimat DashMat which is a custom molded dash cover available only for select trucks and SUVs.
Common DashMat Questions
- Q: Are speakers cut out?
- A: No by design unless raised we do not cut out speakers as they are the first part of the dash to become brittle. The material is porous to allow sound to easily pass through without muffling sound.
- Q: Will it reduce windshield glare?
- A: Lot of factors cause windshield glare but if you suffer from this we recommend a darker DashMat like in black, charcoal, or cinder to absorb light over lighter colors that reflect.
- Q: How do I know if I have a Heads Up Display?
- A: This is also known as a HUD and if your vehicle projects the speed onto the windshield or screen near the windshield you have a HUD.
- Q: How do i know if I have a dashboard sensor?
- A: Look at the center of your dashboard closest to the windshield and look for a bulb or dimple. If you see this than you have a dash sensor. If your vehicle has features like automatic headlights, auto climate temperature controls to regulate the interior temp, or even an ultrasonic park assist you most likely have a dashboard sensor.
- Q: How do they secure?
- A: They secure with hook & loop fasteners similar to Velcro. We provide several strips and you just have to cut into pieces and place throughout the dashboard to secure. These are perfectly safe to use on your dash and any residue can be easily cleaned with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone.
- Q: Are they airbag safe?
- A: Our design team does their due diligence by making sure when designing each DashMat they find out where the passenger airbag deploys from. If they find that our design covers an area where the passenger airbag deploys, they incorporate a flap in the actual design. Some vehicles emboss this on the dashboard while some have what they call "seamless" and you may not see the airbag but our pattern teams understand where they are to make each DashMat safe to use.
